Data on the Inside: Understanding large scale system design in Event Driven Systems

Inspired by Pat Helland's excellent paper "Data on the Outside vs. Data on the Inside" we explore one of the most insidious anti-patterns seen in building integrated Event Driven Systems. The failure to correctly separate private and public data in event sourced integrations lead to endless trouble. Correctly segmenting and modeling public and private data is the most important element in building integrated Event Driven systems.

Chris is a software engineer and architect who's been building message driven and event sourced systems for 25 years and is currently working at Event Store. He has worked in the telecom, finance, and biomedical industries delivering, supporting, and transforming mission critical systems in environments ranging from the fortune 50 to startups.
